Sturgie at the Seymour

Heard from a friend that a sturgeon was caught at the seymour using spring roe, anyone here this? Or is this a LEGEND?

I don't know about this year but I saw with my own eyes a sturgeon was caught at the mouth of the Seymour two years ago during the pink run. It was foul hooked. A couple of days later I saw another angler hooked the same sturgeon.

Its pretty cool lol its like those movies where people spend all their lifes fishing the same lake for that huge and famous cat fish with a halarious name.

I think it was a white sturgeon transported to Cultus lake, supposedly they can live in a wet burlap bag for hours outside of water! According to the article, it eventually adapted and changed to a greenish color.

I don't remember but I think they left it in the lake?

Are you sure? I mean a green strugie and white sturgie the head looks different.

Yeah the guy who caught the sturgie was on the dry fly it was a dead pink salmon pattern 5 wt rod the sturgie was 100 ft long less than 5min battle and released to fight another day ;D

Could very well be. Inspite of what those who think they have all the answers say, there is very little know about sturgeon. I remember reading some of the newly found sience a year or so ago where they found tagged fraser river sturgeon on the west coast of vancouver island inhaling live coho. The brain flash from the report was (get ready for it) "stugeon eat live food sources not just dead ones."

that's scary. remember the movie "JAWS"?.... the sturgeon version will be called "SUCKERS"  :D ;D :D ;D
