Stryker 2106, not just because its a website sponsor. ;) I absolutely love my Stryker 2106 since I started using it last September. So far it has been excellent for coho, steelhead, bull trout, pink, chum, spring jack. A small baitcasting reel goes well with it, a very light setup. I am not too fond of the Stryker 3106, possibly because I am a smaller guy, the rod is fairly heavy and drains my energy during a fishing day. I usually put on 12lb test Maxima to go with the 2106. Moderate action, very sensitive.

i use the trophy XL med action and the trophy steelheader med heavy.

heavier than most of the pricier rods, but very reliable and durable. but of course, if you can afford it, loomis is the one for life.

Because 1. It's more expensive than the Berkley, 2. It's not as good as the Berkley, and 3. I've broken 2 convergences.

For a spinning rod I would recommend Trophy.  Trophy rods are tough and they have incredible actions.

I would agree with BIFFCHAN. I broke 2 convergence rods in the past week. No fault on my part. One just snapped as I was retrieving and  2 days later the brand new replacement rod snapped as I was fighting a small sockeye. I took another in exchange but if this too breaks, that's it for me for this rod.

There might be some defective batches of Convergence rods. I broke the tip of one by seperating the 2 pieces when I finished fishing. The line was not on very tight but I guess there wasn't enough slack from the tip to my snap swivel.

In short, it broke cleanly but A&N returned it for me w/ hassle. I figured because it was a clean break (not splintered) and I used it for only a week.

My other Convergences have no problems though.. even w/ small sturgeons.

Fenwick HMX 10'6...great rod plus it has a 5 year warranty.
