« on: September 08, 2005, 10:59:18 AM »

I fished peg leg yesterday slower than last week but limited out 1 spring 18lbs 2 sockeye 1 pink a good day all in all! As I was leaving about 8 :20pm 2 guys on a jet ski lost power to their craft no lights idiots. so my fried and i towed them in to shore. They left there two buddies on the other side so we picked them up after , when returning back the RCMP were checking limits. what a surprise these guys didn't have enough licenses Busted! Nice to see some enforcement         but where is anybody when fn is selling illegal Fish? just my 2 cents

I was not aware that the mandate of the RCMP included this!

I think RCMP are involved in all aspects of law enforcement.

I was checked by both a RCMP and a conservation officer in Richmond (on different occassions). Both were very nice and polite. The conservation officer gave me a regulations pamphlet and a plastic envelope for my fishing licence as well.

It was nice seeing how professional yet friendly they were  :)

I do have to agree though that I didn't see any authorities during illegal nettings  >:(

I was fishing next to the 4 gents with the Sea Doo. During one of the trips to transport gear to the other side of Peg Leg the guy didn't slow down fast enough and beached his machine about 30' on shore! Funniest thing I'd seen in a while.

public health inspectors/environment health inspectors also have authority to bust people for having illegal fish.
