Old Humminbird 100xs fish finder
« on: August 14, 2005, 08:55:25 PM »

Evenin' all:

I've been trying to find an inexpensive fish finder for the inexpensive boat (14' runabout) and a friend has a Humminbird 100xs for sale. He said he's used it once, paid $275 for it "several" years ago and wants me to toss an offer. Unfortunately it has a suction cup transducer mount so right off the bat I have to send $$ on it to get a transom mount.  I looked at the manf. web site and the product is no longer supported (although they do have an on-line manual for it). I also checked ebay and there's been a  few sell in the $50 - $60 USD region.

My needs are simple. I need to find 300' for setting a prawn trap, I need to be able to give the kids something to play with when we're fishing and they're bored, and I'd like to know how much water is under me when I'm poking around the shallows.

Anyone ever heard of this model or had experience with it? Ideas on pricing?

That's an ancient model-worth maybe $50 tops-remember EBay prices are often high.
