« on: February 24, 2005, 05:48:25 PM »

well due to my new job in richmond
i travel the newest/coq route everyday
and ive noticed this new park under the sky train route
called sapperton landing
its right in front of the old PEN gates
i was wondering if anyone fishes this area at all
the mouth to brunette creek is right beside it
they have a dock there with some cool built in features
just for fishermen  :o

I have caught the odd sturgeon there, but all that riprap from the shore continues on under the water and it is reallly snaggy.

Sturgeon fished out there by boat and have had good success for them nothing over 4 feet though this area can be good during ooligan season and during the summer. Seen alot of guys fishing from the spot your talking about i belive they were bar fishing for Springs or else Sturgeon. Looks a little tickey to land fish a net with a long handle would be an idea.
