Does the phone still have power? If so most people have (home) preset on their phone book (contacts list) and you can give them a call. Two weeks ago someone found my phone, were familiar enough with the phone's settings called me up and I am lucky enough to have my phone back.So a quick trip to Timmy Ho's for a dozen donut reward (I didn't really now what an appropriate reward should be) but judging from the young man's expression it was a good one.Anyways good luck finding the owner I know your effort will be appreciated.

Well the phone was pretty wet so I have it drying out before I try to turn it on. My last cell went for a dunk and I dried it out before I tried to turn it on and it worked ok so I hope it works for this one too.

If you REALLY want to get it back to the ownwer, the ESN on the phone is registered with the carrier.  If you call the carrier, and tell them that you have a phone of "theirs", they will usually be able to help you locate the ESN, and then they may contact the owner.
