Vedder Oct 14
« on: October 14, 2004, 04:57:09 PM »

Well, skunked again.  Im wishing for another cutthroat to bury my float.  Heck I put my roe on the bottom close in to see if that 16 inch sucker would take it. (which of course it didnt, and with them turned down mouths, good luck flossin em)   ;)

Fished the lower bit, buddy lost one after a brief splash.

Prowled around a bit.  Saw a guy get two nice ones on a spoon which was nice for him.

Headed up river to see the gong and fished a couple secluded spots with the same luck.

Went to work disgusted.

Me = 0 - Coho = 8

Whats's going on?  Im doubting my abilities now.  :(

Just got back in about an hour ago. Fished 0730-1430  Was into 4 springs, landed two - bonked one.  Other unknown fish for brief head shakes, and off.  Guys around me, about the same luck.  Two coho seen - one wild (C&R) and one unknown (long line release).

Fished near Wilson Rd.

Yeah, I know that it would have been skunk city.  According to my fishing calendar for the Chedder is that the new cohos would not be in until late Monday or early Tuesday.  This is why I did not bother going --even if I had some free time to fish.  The cohos that are already in the river would be hiding and completely inactive.  The trick at this time is to find their hiding place --but it almost impossible to get them to take the offerings.

You have to be joking, you think you have it pinned down to a 12 hour time slot when the coho will arrive compared to last year.  WOW, never heard that one before???????????

I am not kidding.  I got some oldtimer's  fishing log spanning 40 years.  It follows a cycle.  You just watch --comes Tuesday the cohos will suddenly becomes easier to catch.  You'll see. ;D ;D ;D
