Hey blaydRnr,

This might sound crazy to you and others, but when I'm losing a lot of fish I tie on a bigger hook. Usually I'll use a size 2 for coho and if I lose more than one fish I change over to a size 1 hook right away. My friend uses a 1/0 for coho  all the time and he get all the big ones!! Try it.  Also the  water will be slightly coloured for the next couple of day so go ahead and use size 1 or 1/0 hooks. The fish won't be hook or leader shy.

thanx. i'll give it a shot ;)

FM, thanks for the comments. I was going to reply earlier but didn't as Chris has already posted what I wanted to say. I used to release big hatchery fish in fact, but knowing where these fish will end up I will harvest them instead these days. I do agree with the large fish limitation, just not for hatchery. There should be a maximum size limitation for groundfish, but obviously that's almost impossible as mortality is already high after bringing them from such great depth.

Dennis, a recipe of my roe is coming up on the main page soon... (that's if I get around to loading all these new articles up, soon, I promise!). Basically I am just using roe that has been soaked in procured brine and dried.
