How bout the Red Sox this year. ;D

And before that, who's gonna win the AL west: Oakland, Anaheim or Texas?  My pick is Oakland
And the NL wildcard: SF, Chicago or Houston?  Gotta go with the Giants.

I's like to see Sosa win with the Cub's, but the don't have it.  I like the Dodgers, but I haven't been able to keep up this week.  Are they going to make it?

LA's magic number is 2 to win the NL West.

Did anyone catch what the fans in Montreal did in last nights final game there?  Some fans threw a golf ball onto the field along with some bottles.
31,395 fans -- nearly four times the season average -- checked out the game.

BTW, Ichiro needs just 3 hits to break the all time hits record.

Damn Canadian's!  All they are are a bunch of rowdy forest dwellers that drink beer and chop trees!  And I'm proud to be one! ;D

I'm pulling for Ichiro!  Seattle is my home team (as close as I can get from Coquitlam).

I was reading the paper today and it looks like the Dodgers are all but done.

Milton Bradley (what humourous parents...) of the Dodgers has been suspended for the rest of the season.  1 more win for them and they've got the West.

grumman: did you grow up in Coquitlam?  A couple of buddies went to Centennial there.  I also had summer jobs at Sasamat Camp way back when and passed thru everyday.

Big Guy, you know I will be cheering on the Brooklyn Dodgers. ;D ;D

Got to like the comeback they staged on Saturday night on Finley's grandslam.

Well Ichiro does it over the weekend hitting 262 total hits in one season breaking the 84 year record.  And farewell to Edgar, thanks for the memories.

Now the playoffs... Is Giambi with his $12 million/yr salary going to sit out the first series?

Nope.  I grew up in Burnaby.  I moved to Coquitlam part way through grade 11 and finished school at Burnaby Central.

To bad all these "purists" have to go arround slagging Ichiro.  They accuse him of slapping the ball rather than hitting it.  Bottom line is he broke the record.  The  only asterisk should be beside the # of games.  The focus is all on HR's.  I would think the "purists" would appreciate a little ball control.  They would all love him to be "on base" in front of Bonds or Sosa.

As for "Milton Bradley"  I have a cousin named "Phillip Morris".  My uncle thought it would be a good idea to name him after the cigarette company ::)  He turned into a cop and doesn't smoke.

Major League Baseball has said that there won't be an asterisk next to Ichiro's hit record just like there isn't one for Bonds' HR record and McGuire's before that.

Also Delgado may have played his last game in a Jays uni.

So you're a fellow Wildcat too ;D.  I went to Moscrop before that.

Moose Crap!  Graduated in '82 from Central and '79 from Moscrop.  Cascade Heights Elem.

Good for Ichiro and good for Edgar.  Too few athletes play their career for one org.

My buddies refered to it as Mouse Crap  ;D.  There were twin girls named Sakic at MC in a different grade.  I wonder if they were part of the Burnaby Joe clan?
Went to Douglas Road elem.  The principal bragged that Glen Anderson of Oilers fame attended DR too.

The commish, Bud Selig renamed the DH of the year award after Gar at the retirement ceremonies on Sat.
