Tooth pick Tom

Just received the sad news old timer Vedder river angler Toothpick Tom has passed away. Tom was an avid Vedder river steelheader. I often saw Tom and his fishing partner Dick (since passed away as well) fishing the lower end back in the good old days. R.I.P Toothpick Tom. Gone but not forgotten.

I knew Tom well and  I don't think he will be resting in peace ... he'll still be bitching somewhere about something, lol!

Tom was a good friend I first met in the early 80's. He will be missed, RIP Tom.

He was always had a toothpick in his mouth and he could talk perfectly with it hanging out of his mouth! Lol!

He told me a funny story of how he slipped and fell on the trail behind the On the Way store in his later years. He was walking into the wing dam run to fish for steelhead. He couldn’t get up after falling! He lay on his back for about 2 hours before another angler came by and helped him to his feet. Lol.

Both Tom and Dick were great friends of mine. We fished together for years in the lower river and had great times. Til we meet again my friends.
