Shore fishing for salmon
« on: June 22, 2025, 12:14:39 PM »

Hey everyone,

So I know Ambleside and Cates Park are well known spots for shore fishing for salmon. What about areas around Belcarra? Places like Jug Island beach, Buntzen Bay, etc.
Anyone shore fish for salmon there?

There are some cutty spots in that area. I would think the more productive salmon spots are "on the way" to the Capilano, Seymour, and Indian destinations.

Technically, when a fish is caught, the hook is suppose to be in the mouth. Not near the mouth. Otherwise it is foul hooked.
I have heard people say this before, "it's close enough". :(
Hey FA, I know what you meant by near the mouth. The Vedder must be good.
And not disclosing any locations, because of large crowds of people fishing certain spots unethically.

Meaning: "Unethically" means in a way that is not morally acceptable or in a manner that violates ethical principles. It refers to actions that are considered wrong, unfair, or not in line with what is considered right or proper. Inform these anglers, and if they don't listen . . .Report them to DFO.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in the report. By "near the mouth" I meant near the mouth of the Capilano River. All the fish were legitimately hooked IN the mouth.
