The tug I work on is only 38 feet long, draws ten feet of water. Full of fuel at 12 knots it will throw a swell about 5 feet tall. That will knock you down. Has put out the odd beach fire as well 😬😂.

Awesome. I go down to Iona lots of times to shoot birds (photos) and I see you guys working. Looks like a blast. I'd love to be able to hop on one and spend a day filming. Lucky life  ;D

By the way, I've been trying to get a hold of log peavey for a decent price (I need to roll some big ones around a friend's place). And everytime there is a used one on sale online (under $30) it gets snapped up super fast. Any tips on where I can find an inexpensive log peavey? (I don't care how old...just that it works). Thanks

As i recall when the tugs ran by reasonably close to shore they seemed to push some fish closer as well. We'd often get a fish or 2 once the boat had passed. Often even before wake had settled down

How funny you chose to post that picture dennisk, that’s the boat I work on ! I have worked on the river star for 25 years. I could ask our office what their cost on a new peevee is. I have no idea what they actually cost ? I know we get them at keystone supply in Richmond. Where are you located ?

She’s small but mighty. Good puller. Deep, swinging a big wheel with a big ol Cummins turning that wheel. I’m in Richmond as well. Burkville. I’ll see about a peevee for you. No promises. I’m off for a week or so but I’ll get back to you.

Thanks. I'm real glad to have connected. My wife and I are always walking along the beach there. I'm the tall guy with the shortie lol (aka wife). Cheers.

Dennisk I sent you a pm about peavey price. I see there are a couple of peaveys on Craigslist.
