Fraser River Fishing West of New Westminster Fishing Question

Has anyone ever tried fishing the Fraser River from the Fraser River Park (off the dock or on shore), the foot of Elliott Street (where there is a dock and Romer's Burgers) or Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park?  Is fishing allowed?  Would this be good sturgeon fishing (or anything else)?  Would the water salination be too low for crab?  Thanks in advance for your answers.
