They will simply move to another spot on the river and turn it into a garbage dump. Should've let the high water take them in their sleep.
We hope to deal with this, let us know the location if you find one

Sadly its all over all the rivers. Even if you remove them, many of these homeless people dont want to go to a shelter or change their ways. They will move to other spots and do the same. Its a real dump on many city rivers because of the drug addicts.
Please help us by giving locations of the Chilliwack River that you mention, we will start there and do the best we can. Thanks

Good on ya Chris Rod & others here on this site who care about litter along our streams & rivers.
Some of you may remember the actor James Arness from a long running western Gunsmoke. In real life he liked horse back riding & he'd ride the trails in the back country. He'd camp over night(s).
If he found garbage / litter at a wilderness camping spot he'd pick it up / put in bags / load it on the horse/bring the crap out of the bush & put the trash where it belonged.
Gee his character of being a just marshal was how this giant of a man he was in real life.

Yesterday we started an inventory of more camps on the Chilliwack River. We found 2 abandoned and one large active one. Also returned 2 shopping carts to Save on Foods. The manager was happy to get them back. He said they are worth $300 each and he had just ordered 60 more due to people taking them all the time. Pictures on Fraser Valley Illegal Dumping Alliance FB page as we work on taking our Chilliwack River Valley back and clean up all the trash and pollution these camps are causing to our precious Chilliwack Vedder River..

There is a new camp set up below the crossing. On the yarrow side of the river between the cable car and the old gravel pit. I’m assuming these are the same people that were moved from the camp above the crossing.  Already a bunch of garbage strewn thru the woods in that area.
