Crossed the Port Mann a few hours ago... the boats out there looked like the gong show at Laidlaw... Instead of guys standing shoulder to shoulder it was boats sitting next to each other in the same ridiculous fashion.

Where can we find the commercial opening schedule as you posted it Chris? Is it only for the natives and not all the commercial fleet?  I cannot find that in the commericial fishery notice site.  You mean they will open daily from today (wednesday) all the way to sunday?  That will be ridiculous. So much for the after-3-day window of opportunity for us sport fishers. Thanks.

There was a brief article on CTV tonight regarding the commercial opening. According to the fisherman interviewed fishing was slow. Unless there is a huge influx of sockeyes it would appear that the commercial guys will not meet the DFO's allocated catch of 135,000 sockeyes.

Yes while we were at the SDA meeting tonight we phoned Phil on his boat and he said the fishing was slow.
