Gus Beurling salmon plug
« on: June 14, 2017, 11:21:10 PM »

- A long shot but does anyone have a picture of a plug developed by Gus Beurling, likely mid 60's for use around  Nahmint bay Alberni Inlet. Or other techniques unique to that area and era of fishing.
- I would be interested in seeing what it looks like and how it was rigged.
- I fished that area as a kid with my Dad and Uncle but was to young to remember some of the rigs of the day.
- They used bamboo rods and peetz reels...(I'm still using peetz reels originally purchased by my grandfather and dad). Being younger I had a Penn with a star drag on a metal rod... still have those as well but don't fish them.
- I know we used king cut herring strips I think with gibbs dodger and silver alaskan plug was a secret weapon of the day.
