Handmade steelhead catch and release net
« on: February 23, 2017, 09:15:02 PM »

Was wondering what kind of demand there would be for a hand made steelhead sized landing net.

I made this net myself out of walnut and maple, I have since used it on Vedder River Steelhead, and loved it!!!

The inlay in this net is walnut shavings on one side, and on the other side (visible side) is achelite, but I've recently ran into some turquoise, and can't wait to do a turquoise inlay.

I'm currently making a magnetic net release that would hang from the back of a fishing vest for this one, which would be included in the cost of future fishing nets. Base on the time taken for this net, and cost of materials, 250-300 dollars for a fishing net, with custom options raising the price.

That is a very nice net ! I am guessing you can do custom inscriptions ? I imagine you can also make them for trout and river salmon ?
