The value of sport fishing to BC
« on: August 12, 2016, 01:08:49 PM »

I am spending morning in the waiting room at the Bella Bella airport because Port Hardy where I was headed is fogged in.  This place is a hive of activity with charter flights from YVR, float planes and helicopters coming and going continuously with sport fisherman.  Without sport fishing there would little happening.

Love that place . I lived there for awhile . The inlaws bought what was then . CNFC Fish processing plant in Shearwater . That was back in 1984 and didn't last long (management issues ) . My boss was Alan Tight at the plant . He is a local all his life . I was the last guy to leave there as the place went into receivership . The last thing we could do for work as it dwindled was sell champagne ice to the commercial guy's . The Shearwater inn burn down back then and was rebuilt . Like to go back one day and see how much it has changed . See if Craig Winston will give me a good deal on a room with the hotel workers .  8)
