Replacing float tube inner tube
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:55:07 PM »

Wondering if anybody has had to do this.  Where can you find the right size tube?  I know that they come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

I have an old float tube that I never use any more, but that my oldest boy is almost ready for.  It is an older Caddis brand model.  Being old, the rubber has cracked in a few places and cannot simply be patched.  The canvas of the float tube is fine though.  I know these are pretty cheap to begin with these days, but I'd hate to just send another pieces of salvageable equipment to the landfill.  I'm sick of our "made in China" cheap, disposable society.

Check out a tire store.
Bring the bag down.

And wearing a PFD (particularly with young ones)

Otherwise a float tube is a trap.

I never worried about it (and survived) , but I'm older now.
