Milner talisman pairing
« on: March 12, 2016, 02:02:20 PM »

Which sage rod has the best balance when paired with a 4.5" Talisman? I'm leaning towards a 3106lb but worried the weight of the reel may be a little too much for such a light rod. Maybe a 3113lb may be a better pairing? Anybody have these combo's care to share opinions?
Thanks

Either will be fine. If you're building a rod reel seat placement will play a big role in how the balance feels.

Thanks. I guess a 2106lb would be way too light then?

2106lb would be too light imo. 3113 in either LB or MB would be best as has been stated. 3106lb might be ok depending on handle though that reel is probably a little big and heavy for it

I'm using my with 4106llb (lighter compare to regular 2106lb) and don't have any issues. I think it all depends of reel position and personal preferences.
