Hi, we will be fishing the Sechelt Inlet (very calm) and I am planning on mooching or trawling with dipsy divers for snapper, cod, lingcod and even winter chinooks. I don't want to put her on a mooching rod and reel as the knuckle busting capabilities of those might be a very bad combo.  I was thinking a 7 - 8 foot 2 piece rod, paired with a conventional line counting reel all running 30 lb braid to help get it down when trolling.  I can certainly take care of the line, but does anyone have a rod and reel kicking around like this that they don't need that I can buy off them for a reasonable price to help build this love in the next generation. I don't want to spend too much as she is 8 and lets be honest, there is a reasonable chance of her breaking or dropping it overboard at some point. Thanks in advance!
