NFL playoff picture
« on: December 13, 2015, 11:24:01 PM »

Where's the NFL guys hiding here. My Steelers are rolling right along with a manageable schedule remaining. Just rolled the (was) 10-2 Bengal division rivals today.
Only problem in the AFC playoff picture KC is rolling hard and the Jets are a toss up.

Lots of good teams out there.
Gotta think Seattle wants to win it badly after the lost at the end last year.
Interception in end zone. Shocker big time.
" run the ball every fan & player thought but "no" the coaches wanted to be "cute" & look smart but they got egg on their faces"
Like Denver's QB.
He sees the field well & gets the ball away quickly & on target.
New England wants to repeat.
Balls have been checked for proper inflation.
Green Bay & that other team ? that has only 1 loss ...
( talking about football Eskimos get Grey Cup & what a great effort by them & the way the QB came back from a bad injury & play super !!! To add drama the head coach quits the team & heads east across the border for Sask. )
Picking Seattle to win the Super Bowl.

Can't believe the kicker missed a chip shot field goal for the win.

If he's lucky hell just get some death threats and his house vandalized.
Look what happened to Paul McCallum in Sask. Before he got chased out of there. Rider Nation is a tough crowd but NFL is life for a lot of the US.

Laces out Dan!

The irony is that he kicked a successful one earlier with the laces turned the other way.

As it turns out years later Paul McCallum was re-signed by SK after Lions did not re-sign him last season.
He really had great seasons with the BC Lions.
Most kickers are so much better than in years past.
The people that had the $ on the game either went "nuts" after that missed kick. Some a joyful "nuts" ( joy) & others are still "shaking their heads".
Pressure / cold / sun in eyes / laces.
It was such a close kick that he just thought he had to make contact.
Imagine if this was a Super Bowl game.
Seattle hopefully will have their coming games in much warmer weather. A big plus. As Electroman stated " a gift ".

As it's the NHL All Star weekend all NHL teams are having a break. ( no games )
Thus let's talk about this year's Super Bowl.
Denver vs Carolina.
Both teams have had a super record. So many wins & barely any losses during the season.
Denver beat New England last week & not an easy thing to do. Home advantage helped "big time".
Most experts would tell you the Panthers are 10x the better team than the Broncos.
But hold on. Wait a minute.
In a game where winner takes all the pressure is totally on Carolina.
They had a near perfect season & get to the Super Bowl the players just may be so high or pumped up they may make mistakes. Fumbles, interception, miss play, bad kick off coverage...
What team that can handle the pressure & execute is going to win.
If Payton cannot move the ball in the 1st half, they should get the back up guy in there.
If that does not help then re insert Payton.
Who do I want to win ?
Both teams.  :o
Just hope it's a great game.

Cross your fingers Carolina loses.
Newton is such an amazing athlete and quarterback. But I can't stand his attitude and its infecting the whole team.
I'd love nothing more then to watch Manning go out on top, as much as I dislike the Broncos, and to show Cam how to do it with class.
It's going to be a great game Denver has top defence and Panthers are good at racking up points in the first half. It's going to come down to Denvers defence if they show up they win.

Denver has a better team than the last recent time they were in the big game.
Experts & non experts picking the Panthers by a big margin.
Pat Robertson (700 Club tv show) had a feature on some players on both teams.
This 85 yr old preacher predicts the Panthers by 2 touchdowns.
But he added but do not count out Peyton Manning having a great game so outcome may just be surprising.
The weather is going to be perfect.
My head wants the best team to take it but my heart wants a close exciting game with Denver coming out on top. As Noah Arc stated that Manning is a class act & with a win he & Denver would be the most happy football team that would take them a whole week to come back to earth.
Manning with a win would have a smile the rest of his life till he breaths his last breath.
He's a winner & he truly wants to win this one for the fans team  & himself.
Go Broncos Go !

I can't decide if I'm cheering for Denver or just hoping for a Carolina loss.
Manning is a class act. Go Broncos.

Everything that could go wrong for the Panthers went wrong.
On fumbles they did not recover.
Recievers had the ball but defenders got a hand in & thus ball was dropped for incomplete.
A replay review showed a catch was made  & tv guys agreed but was ruled incomplete.
Manning did not have a great game but the Denver defense just rushed Cam Newton into making quick throws. He got sacked. Many times he was hit hard after throwing a pass.
Bronco defense just had a whale of a game. Stopped the run, stopped the pass, contained Newton from big run gains...
Honestly I thought the Bronco defense would start to tire in the 2nd half & the Panthers would take over the game as Payton was not moving the ball. Red zone only field goal attempts & lots of. 3rd to 4th down & punt but they did not slow down or get tired. They just kept the pressure on the Panther offence right to the end.
Got to hand it to Denver as they beat New England 2 weeks ago & come in & beat the Panthers who had the best record of any team this season.
Time for Payton Manning to retire on top plus he will be 40 yrs old in a few weeks.
Ali the boxer retired on top & made the mistake to un retire because of a big $ offer. Holmes pounded Ali & all he could do was stay in the corner with his hands up trying to deflect punches that Holmes threw.
2 Super Bowls & it 's time for the sheriff to ride his horse in the sunset & go out on top.
If he played another season the team may lose & if he had a bad game fans will say that he should of retired. Plus if he plays another season an offence lineman may miss a block & Payton get blindsided & he could get a really bad injury.
He has nothing to prove anymore, retire & enjoy this win into his grampa years.
He said he's going to drink lots of Budweiser beer tonight.
Congrads to the Denver Broncos  ;D :) ;D
