there is a spring closure in region 8 from April 1 - June 30 for streams only, so yes you can fish anywhere along the way assuming the regs don't say otherwise. Some streams are exempt from the closure. Best to pick up a synopsis.

I may be too late in my post, but the Similkameen is exempt the spring closure and many moons ago Marcxh was the time for whitefish.  It was lost of fun.
