Stamp River - Upper and Lower River holding fish
« on: January 23, 2015, 06:42:59 AM »

This past weekend again showed mixed results. We had one day out of three that was a very slow day while the others were productive with 3-4 fresh Winter fish in the boat. This fish in the photo below was one of four to the boat in a single morning Monday.

There are Winters in the upper river now as well, the fish are moving through quickly and holding in the middle river.

With the big coastal rain fall expected that should push more ocean fish into the region. Interesting that Port Alberni is not expecting the deluge that the west coast is this weekend. The weather report as of this morning says only 30 MM on Friday-Saturday and then 8 MM on Monday. Yet just on the coast they are calling for record rainfalls. Fingers crossed that deluge doesn't hit here.

See the weather report and river levels graph on our report page for current conditions and details.
