Vise for Beginners

Wondering if anyone out there has any tips on what I should look for in a reasonably priced vise to get started on tying my own.

-try your local fly fishing club.
-I bet you can get a good used vise plus some advice on tying

i got my first one in a fly tying starter kit
then upgraded when i found a good deal on a thompson on craigslist
but the thompson isnt good for hooks bigger than size 2 it takes alot of adjust to clamp tight on bigger hooks

I got one for $20 at SeaRun. It was the cheapest thing they had in the store. I only tie jigs so far though, so have no idea how well it'd work for flies. Works great for jigs though. I understand you shouldn't cheap out on the bobbin though.

Griffin odyssey spider.

Full rotary for $100, simple tightening,  and works really well!

And bobbins get a ECO (brand, owned by dr. Slick) one that is glass lined for $5? Great little bobbins that have brass feet. 
though I would love a rite bobbin.

send me an email. I have a vise from a beginners kit that you can have. Just need to come pick it up. I may even have a couple tools (bobbin, scissors.......)

Thanks for all the heads up. Didn't see the offer till now but really really appreciate it HOOK. I ended up pulling out the wallet and buying a descent one. So far I love it
