minn kota power center
« on: September 19, 2014, 06:43:07 PM »

Hi, i saw minn kota power center in the store and its only 80$. Do we need to buy their minn kota charger to charge the battery? or any changer will be fine.

Also any user think its a good battery? any advantage or disadcantage? If not, any other recommondation? use for minn kota 30 and inflatable boat for lakes

I want to get more info before i purchase it. Thank you

Cheapest way is to buy a plastic container tray, a marine battery and 2 fastener.

what the fastener for?

For holding down the whole battery unit, to preventing the unit rocking back and forth.

as far as I can tell the only advantages to the Minn Kota box are that it gives you something to carry it in, shows you how much juice is left in your battery and it has a resistor between the battery and motor to help conserve power where as battery directly to motor will draw power faster. The box is not worth the price in my opinion

You can buy a cheap battery case at walmart for like $15 or so. Also their deep cycle batteries have been very good to me. Make sure to charge every month or so while not using it and will last long. The battery meter on that power center is very useful though..... Ive gone out 4 times without charging my battery once and I knew i was lucky ahha, but I had no idea what the level was though it was very impressive nonetheless.. lol
