Rodney, I would just love to find a place to bar fish but in several years of prowling the river I haven't found a single suitable location.

Is there really room for 50 cars to park at the Scale Bar?  I was past there yesterday late and it looked like the parking had been further restricted to about 10 cars although most had gone home so there may be parking in little corners I didn't notice.

You figure once people see about 30 cars, they'd realize it's not worth going in. Not at Scale though. Most likely at 50 cars people were still walking in thinking they can get a spot.

How was the fishing though? Are people catching the right size fish or most go home skunked? Just trying to figure out if it is worth the trip to do combat fishing for slow fishing. The test fishery count for the last 2 days is 5 fish each, not a good number compared to 40-50 fish days in early July.

Carich980 you are correct that there was something about using selective methods but it looks flossing is moving full steam ahead and that other species than Sockeye are ok to "harvest" as well.
Many of us seen this coming long ago and it is only going to get worse.
There wont be and isn't room for those that actually want to ethically fish.
Im just glad I did get to experience fishing on the rivers before this debauchery ever got started.
So true and I had to admit when I visited with 4 FOC officers yesterday at Hope how I was part, along with Pete when we got this going many years ago. I was told we all are allowed one mistake in one's life but this was a big one. :-[ :'(

Anyway I did hike down to "The Scale" yesterday,a nice walk after supper, cleaned up some garbage and found a few tins. It was blowing so hard I hated to take the camera out of the case due to the sand storm. Maybe 12 or 15 people there, saw one sockeye landed and another chap with a chinook, he was so proud of his catch too. :o I did film what it looked like down there but a bite shaky due to the wind but we are in HD now. ;D I will get the short clip up later.

My trip was fishless except for pikeminnows but enjoyed the solitude and picking several types of wild berries and sold corn at Lytton but it was like a oven there.

I too am curious about the parking. There is nowhere to park anywhere near there. Where are all the cars Chris?

Then DFO may as well make people pay for parking at the meat holes of the Vedder too and that will surely add a lot more money to the enhancement project. LOL. ;D

Wasn't there a section in the regs last year or the year before that said bb is discouraged. Why isn't DFO down there "discouraging" it?

We got stopped on Friday at Island 22 by DFO at the launch coming back.  I don't know how long they were there but it was about 2 when we came out.  There were probably six boats that "limited out" by about 8 or 9 that morning and if they checked at all, I would have bet a couple of them were unable to tell the difference between sockeye and chinook and more than a couple were hooked nowhere near the head.  Told them about that.

Also so a guy pulled over on the road outside the launch getting a ticket by a CO.  Pretty sure his boat wasn't registered but not sure if that was what the ticket was for.

Hope you meant pepper spray when you said insurance Chris, we have a blue berry farmer up here that's already shot 8 bears this year just for being bears and going into his blueberry field and we're actually running a little low on black bears in Laidlaw.
