Cap June 19
« on: June 19, 2004, 03:28:47 PM »

Today me and my fishing buddy were at the cable pool early in the morning at around 3:30 a.m.  We started to fish at around 4 of 4:30 a.m the day go of the a nice start because early on we saw a guy pull out a nice coho around like 1.5 to 2 pounds.  So me and my freind were there thinking we will cath somthing but we did'nt because after the guy couth that coho the fish go spooked and nothing was biteing.  Then we went down to Docters pool nothing there so since the water was low at the capilano i gusse the mouth should be good but no we did'nt cath anything there also all that was couth was a rock cod by a guy next to me and my freind.

That was my day and i hope its better tomorrow.

well was at the cap at around 4:45 too many people in the cable pool so went for a bit of a hike... found nothing so went back to the pool just downstream from the cable and my buddy lost a 3 or 4 lb coho on a croc.  taht was it for the day... saw a few rising and 1 jumped, but no bites.

On june 19, 2004 I lost a nice coho at the cable pool.  I was using ghost shrimp, my leader was about 2 feet long and just above that I had 4 very small split shot weights.

I'll be at the cap this weekend, I'm always there.  They've forcasted some rain for this weekend, let's just hope that rain holds up.

Ivan, we want the rain to raise the water level.  Rain isn't neccessarily better weather to fish in.  Usually when it's raining the barometer is dropping, the fish sense all these slight changes in the weather.  But when it's sunny it might be to warm and the fish will stay inactive and move to the depths in search of cooler temperatures.  Having said that, I prefer fishing on  an overcast day, much like today.  More impotantly, we need the rain to cut down the risk of forest fires.
