Your welcome Humpy.
Aaron if you went by the island spot did you find a small plastic box with weights floats hooks and spoons/spinners if so could you email me and i could recover it because i forgot it yesterday.

Post it in the lost and found, I'll then put it up on our Facebook page for you to see if anyone has come across it.

Went to Rice yesterday, early, pouring rain, broke my rod tip in the parking lot, drove home, got my little telescopic spinning outfit and headed to Hastings.  Not a single fish rising and even less bites.  Nobody else there which was a blessing at least as it's such a small dock.  That would be a nice little lake to fish if you could fish anywhere along the shore, but that dock is just tiny.  My second and last time of fishing there.

Seems like it isn't just me who isn't getting any fish from the urban lakes.

They're definitely much more elusive than previous stockings, even "matching the hatch" has been unproductive on the lakes with insect activity.

With buntzen getting 3000 though, luck should change. I've always found buntzen to be very productive after a stocking.

I might go monday too. Maybe even this weekend. Once you find where the fish are and what they like youre golden. I only wish there were bigger ones than these little 200g fish in rice lol.

You'll probably never see that happen with out fast people go and fish them out. The locals are barely stocked and I've seen well over 40 people in a afternoon fishing it, and most will won't even catch and release. That and the release programs drop at release size almost immediately. It gets expensive holding fishing for too long and gets too crowded.

Is this Twitter? 6 pages in a week of people talking about planning to go out or not catching anything? #comeon

Time to pull out the 8" silver rapalas for the Mill Lake Pike feast. It's going to be a gong show out there this weekend. Can't wait - well, might have to wait until Sunday. Saturday might be a wet Vedder day. I hear from a select few that the first week after a trout stocking, Mill Lake pike begin to gourge on the unsuspecting pellet trout.

I sure would like to hook into one of these fabled monsters of the swamp.

I was out today with the new puppy from spca, poor guy was "having kittens", when I was throwing my spey line around, only hooked into one in 4hrs but and returned, was mostly enjoyable to just have sun today...it felt great to be outside lol.

The Vedder really must be slow to see so much talk about urban lake fishing. :)

Aaron there must be something wrong there sir.I caught one 5 feet from shore and it wasnt from the dock. There actualy very close but it depends when you are fishing because there is a time where you can see 6+ fish jump at the same time 20 ft form shore.
Good luck Rieber ;D

This coming week, the hatchery will do the second stockings of the year for the five main Fishing in the City lakes (Lafarge, Como, Green Timbers, Rice and Hastings). Deer Lake will also have its first stocking.
