2014 Birds
« on: February 04, 2014, 08:22:02 AM »

It had to start at some point :)

Finally got some nice shots of Hooded Mergansers out at Reifel....

Others too, but the Hoodie was my takeaway victory of the day.  These guys have always stayed at the OTHER end of ponds from where I am shooting until this most recent time.

Here are the shots from the day.

Flickers always look so awkward on the ground, but you see them there often, going after ant colonies.

Those mergansers look amazing Dragonspeed! Here are some pics I've taken over the past few years. Would have posted them earlier if I'd noticed this forum. I hope I'm not posting too many at once   :-\

Some lovely shots Steel!

One thing... your linked pics are HUGE... and take a while to fill in.  Generally try linking in pics that are 1024px on the long side.  Gives people quick views and a decent size for seeing the great details in your shots.

Tight lines and sharp focus!

We actually had a nice sunny day back on Monday - A rarity for Vancouver's spring.  Went down to the lake to shoot.  Here are some of the results:

1. Black-capped Chickadee

2. Oregon Junco

3. Plump little Song Sparrow

4. Male Bufflehead just popping up from a dive

5. I can never get enough of these beauties

Hope you enjoyed them... the full day's outing is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dragonspeed/sets/72157643391045523
