On boob tube right now is the 1975 quarterfinal game 4 between the Flyers vs Maple Leafs.
3rd period score is 3-2 for Flyers.
Names Rod Sealing, Ed Van Impe Bill Barber,Earle Thompson Rick McKeesh,Dornhopper,Watson,  Salming,Ron Ellis,Bobby Clarke,Tiger Williams,Dave Keon,DuPont,Bill Clement,Alexander, (score now 3-3) Ron Ellis ties up the game.

Sittler, Bernie Parent,Turnbull,Bob Kelly,Lanny McDonald, Schultz, Red Kelly Leafs coach,Norm Ulman, ( Flyers playing dirty as they are using the lumber on the Leafs )
As few fights already.
In the season the Flyers had nearly 2000 penalty minutes ,a record.
Reggie Leach, Jim McKiney,Fred Shero Flyers coach, ( funny Tiger Williams has not tried to be an enforcer in this rough game ? )
Hard to compare teams from say the 70s but what a game if the 1975 a Flyers played the present Boston Bruins.talk about bodies that would be flying & stick work !
OT Flyers win.
3 on 2 rush & Dupont gets the winner.
Shot thru the 5 hole.
Flyers take the series.

Wow wow wow wow ESPN classic ch has the Leafs vs Red Wings May 1st. 1993 quarter final game 7.
1st penalty of the game in the 3rd period.
Potvin is the goalie.
Harry Neale the color man & Cole the play by play man.
Pat Burns the TO coach. Sadly he died of cancer later in life.

Is this the year the Leafs played the Kings with Wayne the great one ?
Think so. LA would get by the Leafs but it took 7 games.
Then Kings got past Leafs in exciting hockey.
Kings got the 1st game in Montreal & were winning the in game 2 with little time left.
Morley Mcsorely the Kings D man gets a penalty for a excess curved stick, & the Canadians tie up the game.
As it turns out the Canadians win the game & go on to win the series.
That curved stick done in the Kings as it turns out.
They would of more than likely won the game & go back to LA 2 games to nill.

Doug Gilmour just tied the game ( tv )
Game is in Detroit.
This is also the Detroit team that would win a lot of Cups in the 90s & 2000s.
In OT Leafs score. Shot was deflected & into the wide open net. Red Wing goalie came out to cut the angle on the shooter.
If ya like go to the net & search for the Leafs 92-93 player roster ( do the same for the Red Wings  ) you will not believe the many many great players on both teams.

Side note.
Just as the doctor ordered. The Flames play the Canucks tonight in Vancouver.
The Canucks need a win badly & if they lose I'll eat my "shorts". :o

FA yes your right; alot closer game than I thought it would be.
Seemed the players were skating slow. Maybe bad ice?
Kassian or however his name is spelt ( seemed to skate fast )
They get the W in the shoot out.

Torts has a temper & went after the Calgary coaches in the hall & not that it's a good thing to do but he is at least standing up for the team in his own way.

Canucks have a history in the last few years of being pushed around. Remember during the finals between the Bruins vs Canucks Sedin got a gloved in the face 4-5 x during a stoppage.
Why the ref did not call a roughing penalty is beyond me.

Anyways maybe the players will get re energized by the win & will get behind their coach, the team, the city & perform like a top team.

Torts has a meeting on Monday with the league.
Should be a 5 game suspension from being behind the bench & $75,000 fine is my wild guess.
