Cap Sun Morning June 13th
« on: June 13, 2004, 08:44:17 AM »

Was out this morning again on the Cap and the water was about two feet higher than yesterday. Floating awesome boraxed March steely roe got me a nice little 3lb Coho for my barby tonight! 8) The little buck couldn't resist those eggs as he entered the pool and gobbled 'em! River was rising while I was leaving and I mentioned this to the others fishing there, so hopefully no one will get caught in the rising flow.

Nothing for us. ::) Had a few good hits at first light but nothing hooked. Saw one rolled only. Water was rising, so be careful. :)

I didn't make it.  The lure of sleep was just too powerful today.

Fished this morning at the Capilano river with  my neighbour Dan. We hiked down into the canyon, at 4:30am, a little dangerous as the rocks are quite slippery and the cliffs are straight down.

I put some freshly cured chum roe on the #2 Gammie and drifted it through the tailout and WHAM fish on. I beached a small Coho of about 1 1/2lbs. Dan said"give me some of that roe!" so he baited up and casted out and Wham he's fish on, but it spit the hook. So I rebaited my hook and on my next cast BINGO fish on I beached another little Coho of about 2lbs. I guess we just hit some moving fish.

I looked up river and guess who I see? Yep, Rod and his Dad ;D But I guess they did'nt see me waving?

  Guess it's BBQ. tonight ;D

Hey blueback me and my brother "The_Roe_Man" were fishing beside you.  Good job on the fish.  Yours was the only one we saw caught.  We decided to leave a little while later at around 7:30.

Oh yeh, found a nice drennan on the way out of the pool too!! ;D Never used one before (cost was prohibitive) but I'll try this one next time out.
Cheers

That's probably my Drennan... ::) Dad lost it up in the canyon on Thursday and it was snagged up on the rocks, must have been washed away when the water rose. Is it a Piker 11g? ;D
