finally a STAVE REPORT JUNE 11
« on: June 11, 2004, 10:28:55 PM »

well what a day after working on my day off lol
i decided to stop by the stave on my way home  being as i drive over it every day  ;D
checked out the bridge  area  water is REALLY HIGH
there was a couple of other guys fishing under the bridge lookin for cutties
saw his float dip a few times but he was a little to slow
i tried bar fishin from the north east corner for half an hour  with no sucess
so i moved on up the west side to a spot where the water was slacker
well the water was so high that i was casting out my bait  to the spot where most people usually stand in the fall for chum lol
when i saw the high water i wasnt sure if it was worth it, but i had a few hours to kill  :D

well all i had for bait was some double red hot roe that has worked awsome for dollies on the pitt but would it work here, the water itself has about 4' visibility  its really clear.

well the first cast didnt sit still to long and wham fish on WAHOOOOO
lost it  :o
minuets later rod shakeing me contemplating, bait gone lol ???
well this went on for the next two hours lol, some hits missed, some on but lost but none landed  :P
but it was cool to watch the fry jumping so tiny yet so strong
also inbetween snacking on my roe one fish did jump infront of me about 3 times with a big ariel twist thingy  on his last flash
reminded me why i was there in the first place, and why i will be back next week
