Capilano June 10th
« on: June 10, 2004, 08:22:40 AM »

One fish this morning, around 2lb. Hooked it around 5:30am. My dad caught it. Water level was good, few risers.

Very chrome, looked like it just came in last night.

On procured double hot red chum roe from last year.

Didn't see anyone else fishing, usually I hardly see anyone around this particular spot where I fish. Probably because it's not extremely productive compared to other spots, but I do get plenty of room to drift.

Norm, most of the time I fish away from the crowd so I don't make a fool out of myself. ;D

There really is nothing wrong fishing with a whole group of people, I used to do it quite often actually. But it tends to boil the competitive blood in me and then it is more stressful than relaxing.

Nice for my dad to get into a coho the day after he stepped off the airplane at YVR. ;D

well after reading your report Rod, i am definitely rappelling into the canyon to fish, there is a small ledge on the cliff, and a sweet hole with fish holding below it. tie off on some climbing anchors, pull out the pak rod..........BBQ'ed coho for dinner

Congrats. Rodney , and to your father for being the lucky one to get the fish , so exciting ...... As  I also did a run to the river with my son . Neither one of us got a sniff , Didn't have any procured dbl. hot red chum roe  I guess . A couple of fish were picked off by others .  Must have been pounded pretty good by others  during the afternoon / evening , cause there sure is alot of gear and line snags around now . Guess we weren't at the right spot this time......

Ran into Gumboots and his son on the river today and said howdy. I managed to foul hook one fish and of course I released it and did'nt see any others caught. I'll try again tommorow. ;D
