Chilliwack River, October 9th 2013
« on: October 10, 2013, 01:31:29 PM »

hit the upper eiver yesterday with a buddy. on the 8th we were nailing em on col. blades but this am was a different story. short floatee blades for the first couple of hours and barely any bites.  clarity was getting better as the day went on and we could see mass schools of fish move through non stop. even saw what I think was alaaaate red spring. could be wrong though. after a brief sandwich break I decided to cast and managed to snag into in a pink  :o when I was pulling it in to unhook the humpy I heard a loud snap and falling infront of me was my pin rod tip  >:(. swirched over to the bait caster and decided to huck some wool and roe. got a better response out of the fish and managed to land this beauty buck.

the day started to get better as my buddy landed another buck ho.
the sun quickly started to fade and to prep for a camping trip decided to hunt for a pink doe and managed to score some much needed roe.
all in all a good day minus the pin rod snap.

Nice fish man.
I too was out this a.m., albeit in a very busy spot on the lower river. Got lucky and managed to limit out. First time ever. Fishing was good today  ;D

with you in that one. too often than not I get low holed without being asked or deal with people who dont know how to time thier casts. all the spots I hit now are those I found during stealhead months or from observing where cars are parked and hitting those spots on low populated days.best suggestion for thr poster asking for this spot is to do those things. make mental notes on your environment and whats going on. get away fron the crowds and follow trails others have left behind. the river is littered with them you just gotta look.
