cars parked beside Hatzic lake.
« on: September 14, 2013, 11:35:39 PM »

A lot of times I  drive by Hatzic Lake along Loughheed highway and see a few cars parked by the small overpass on the lake. Does anybody know what they are doing there? Do people fish in the lake under the overpass or is this a spot to access the Fraser for fishing? For some reason this really peaks my curiosity.

I know a Hungarian that brings his buds there for carp. They park beside the Hwy in front of the lake.

used to go there as a small child with my father and reel in amazing amounts of crappie. probably a fishery I should take advantage of now that I myself have small children  :)

There are lots of little rainbows in there as well. I'm not sure if they stock it or not, but I was curious one day as well, chucked a spoon from the shoreline and hit a few 6-10inch rainbows.

Carp, crappie and bass.

Rainbow and cutthroat trout, too.
Good place to fish if you don't mind the noise of passing cars.

I was a regular fishing the canal for carp back in the day.
