Tidal Fraser River, September 10th 2013
« on: September 10, 2013, 07:03:10 PM »

I arrived at the bar around 8:00 am and already many fish had been landed. There was a fog bank out in the river and just visible in the mist was a parade of porpoising pinks. The two gentlemen I was fishing with were both experienced fishermen. I'm just average and the three of us tried spoons, buzz bombs, spinners and jigs and got maybe two or three fish to the
beach . I don't know how we could miss but you can and we did . Lots of fun and good banter but I was glad the other gents were missing fish because it would have been very frustrating if I had been alone. Going to give it another go tomorrow. Someone else mentioned that the fish move offshore when the sun is up and I think that happened to me today. I'm going earlier tomorrow.

pay close attention to where on the bar people are hitting lots of fish. I know Two Bit has certain spots along the bar where your either getting fish like crazy or going home empty handed. The bar I fish is also like that, I have had people standing beside me getting nothing while im hitting them like crazy. I trade them spots for a bit and cant hit a fish to save my life while they are hooked up steadily. Its funny how things happen this way even when there is massive schools of fish in front of you

There is a spot on 2 bit bar and the people are shoulder to shoulder and it's a magnet for snags. I would rather have some space than fish like that. It's a choice I make.

so is there a bar at the 2-bit again? I was there a couple of years ago and ...no bar, not even mud. I asked a couple of guys in the area and they said it had disappeared in the big flood in 2007.
