Vedder Canal

Looking for sage advice from anyone that's taken a small boat on the Vedder Canal.  Would it be practical/safe to take a Zodiac type inflatable with an electric trolling motor, to troll down the Canal towards the mouth. Obviously, I'd stay away from the Fraser, but I do not know much about the currents I'd face. Also, would it make a difference in the current if I took it out on an incoming tide?

Fine safe and effective... to cast metal for cohos from a inflatable with electric motor in lower Vedder- below the highway bridge.

Thanks for the input all.  I was out today to give it a try. I'd say overall, no problem at all, though I could see with some stronger winds and choppier water in near the mouth, it could make trolling in a light craft like mine more difficult.  I ran the battery down more than I usually do for the time on the water, but there was still plenty of juice left.  The only thing I'd like a bit different for today was to find a few more fish!  The fish (salmon that is) didn't show up very often on the fish finder...yikes, it really is a small run of red springs!  Still very nice to be out. Talked with a few other boaters and no one I spoke with got anything.  Now have a bit better idea of the pockets that could be more productive.
