I was wondering if smelt fishing is open around our local beaches? I've looked at the regulations for area 28 and 29 and it states it is opened between Aug 16 to Dec 31. I was at Ambleside last week and saw a couple of people fishing for smelts.

area 28-29 open aug 16-june 14   from thursday 8am till 8am mondays.

That's interesting. The hard copy and the online version have two different opening times... I will find out which one is correct and request to have that fixed.
