Decided to visit Como Lake today after work as it was supposed it be a nice afternoon. It was nice - for about half an hour. The rest of the time was a mix of clouds, sleet, and snow. lol
Anyhow, onto the fishing report. I fished Como after work from 4-6pm, floating around in my tube with a buddy.
He landed one just before I got there on a sinking line and a carey special.
I had 3 good pulls and landed one of them. It looked to be in much nicer shape than other pellet-fed brats I'd caught in there before, so out of curiousity (and hunger, I'm a bachelor this week as my wife is away and I had nothing in the fridge for dinner! lol) I decided to bring it home for dinner to see if they really tasted as bad as everyone says.
They're pretty close. lol
I used a lot of butter, pepper, and lemon, and it was an ok meal, but I wouldn't rush out for the sole purpose of stocking the fridge. lol
For what it's worth, I got the fish on a #14 green sparkle mini-leech, and when I cleaned it the fish was JAMMED with black #12 chironomid. And I mean it was FULL of the buggers.
