Give Mark at Valley Custom Rods a call he does some really nice work and is even a Rainshadow dealer. He has done work for me in the past and has built rods for a couple buddies as well.

I gotta throw in a good word for sea run fly and tackle. had a rod builter there, sage 3113 customized into a mooching rod, and it was immaculate. put in a few good seasons up in the gwaii, and not a fault on it.

Mark does great work and rightly so is in high demand.  If he can't help you send me a PM; I do the repairs and builds for Fred's.

Just so we are on the same page ...the Sage rods on the rack at Fred's are built by Brian Babcock and unless you were shown one of the custom rods I have recently built for Fred's customers, by staff, you probably have not seen my work.  So let me know as I would be happy to build what ever you want.

I've seen some of marks work, its good.....Ive seen some of Searun's  work lately and its not very good...bad components and bad work. the new sage rods at freds are ok but the cork quality isnt as high as it should be for 600 bucks...and the reel seats and  butt boxes are gross.. Brian Ford at westcoast tackle does quick and clean work.....

+1 for Mark at valley custom rods.
You should stop in and see his new shop now he's got, he's got all rainshadow blanks stocked plus all components stocked on the shelf.
He's very helpful and even if you choose to get a rod built elsewhere, his components selection will at least give you a better idea what you want if you're undecided.
