Wanted. salmon skeleton or skull.
« on: December 14, 2012, 07:06:36 PM »

I am looking for a gift for an avid salmon fisherman / medical professional. I thought a salmon skeleton or skull would be a good idea, but have no idea where to find one.  Does anyone out there have one they are willing to sell, or know where I can find one?

Thanks for any help

Cheers

Go down to the river and pick one up off the bank

I am looking for a clean, assembled skeleton, possibly in a frame. I don't have the time or skill set to do it myself.

Probably going to be hard to find an assembled one in a frame... I bet if you took a carcass to a taxidermist they could help you out. That said, there are plenty of intact skeletons with much of the flesh eaten off lying around at any river right now. Perhaps taking it to the taxidermist will satisfy what you're looking for?

You should send an email off to Helterskeletons.com.  They put together and assemble entire fish skeletons in a shadow box. Only problem is that they are in Florida. However, they may know of individuals who do the same work in Canada. You should take a look at their website. Some of their work is pretty stunning.
