Fished the canal until I ran out of roe. The fish were very spooked today with the amount of people fishing with 10 lb cannon balls attached to their line. Managed 2 adult springs one jack, one wild coho, turned and lost 2 other coho's. Caught lots of chum, lost count on them. Coho didn't cooperate as much as during the week.

I watched the show at KWB this morning; no fist fights but lots of verbal threats across the river from anglers tangled together.  I did not see any intentional snagging, but long leaders were the norm. When I was there, 10 ish, I estimated maybe 40 fish (mainly chums but a few chinook and the odd coho, including a very sorry looking jack coho) frantically dodging the stuff thrown their way.  These fish were very stressed but thanks to the big rootwad in the deep holding water, had a place to hide.

Speaking of that rootwad ... full of gear!!!   anyone with a wetsuit should check this tacklestore out before highwater ... the angler's won't mind you swimming this pool  :D :D :D

You mean the cleanup crew did not get this on River Day,shameful. ::)

Wow Chris, thought you were exaggerating when you said you'd never seen so many out.  I just got back from the river and that was indeed the most people I've ever seen on the river before first light with more on the way.  I decided it wasn't worth it and came back home without stepping foot out of he car.   Wife was thrilled to see me home so early and gave me a long list of chores :'(.  Should have stayed out longer, i could have at least taken a nap in the car :D.

Things will get back to more normal conditions tomorrow as this weekend is always the busiest on the fall salmon season.  With all the crowds I fish the last light of the day as the early morning crowds,( in the dark) have gone home exhausted. I have found the bite quite good the last hour but the tide conditions have been favorable too.

Of course no one fishes "The Glove." ;D ;D ;D
