Don't take somebody's word for it, make sure you stop at a shop and get a copy of the tidal salmon regs if you're fishing below the train bridge before you bonk anything!

No need to get angry  :P. Simple question, simple answer. If I don't know, then they all go back. No worries.

Actually Jewelz, there is a reason to get angry.  No one should be fishing without reading the regulations first.  You cannot ask a question like that on here.  If someone says, "you can keep wild coho too," then what?  This forum is the place to ask a clarification question, where you do not understand what the regulation is.

In this case there is no such ambiguity:

"FN0448-RECREATIONAL - Salmon: Strait of Georgia, Howe Sound and Juan De Fuca - Areas 14 to 20, 28 & 29 - Coho Fishing Times and Limits

Subareas 28-1 to 28-7 and 28-9 (Capilano Mouth)
-----------------------------------------------------
Effective immediately until 23:59 hours March 31, 2013, you may retain two (2)
hatchery marked Coho per day.

There's nothing wrong with asking. I rather have new anglers asking "stupid" questions than making the mistakes out there on their own, that's why we have this forum in the first place. More experienced anglers should always have some tolerance as "stupid" and "ignorant" questions will continue to pop up as long as this forum lives. With that being said, Sandman sums it up quite nicely. There is a risk in asking the general public about regulations, you may get the wrong answer and end up committing a fishery violation even though your intention is good. This is why I usually post a link to the fishery regulation that is being questions instead of answering it directly, in case I interpret the regulations wrongly, which I sometimes do.

Thanks guys  :)! I checked the regs, and after a few looks, I finally found it. Kinda had to make sure I got the right sub area.

I was planning on going out on Sunday morning, but decided to sleep in! Just can't pass up on those mornings where I don't have to get up with the kids!
