Also on the tiny salt islands that are only exposed during very low tide. That's where I have seen the most fish caught.

Where are these islands? Do I just walk out towards the bay during low tide?

It's by the navigation lights and is accessible only at low tide unless you have a boat. Be cognizant of the incoming tide. It's easy to get stranded

thanks for the info jewelz, spoonfed and others.  29 lbs on 6lb spinning - nice work!  I've got that setup too, if I can't get a rise with the fly rod!  I've got plenty of flies for rainbow and some some spoons and spinners in the box for spinning - do you have favorite fly and tackle shop?

On the west side and down stream of the train bridge.

Downstream of the train bridge is salt though, right? So you need a tidal license to fish below that line?

I guess above the train bridge is off limits? Or not worth fishing because there are no pools?

Was there tonight around 8 to 9:30. Had one on the line but broke off just about 15 feet in front of me. Super high tide, people passing by kept talking about how high it was....

Chucking a fly is very difficult there - the wind is blowing in your face the whole time.

The best time is first light on a low low-tide.

July 12th is the next decent time for that.
June 12th looked great.

Spinners with red beads are always good.

I'm gonna try tomorrow morning during low tide.

Another question, I don't have a stamp for salmon so I have to release, but when I do get it, can I keep the wild coho's or just the hatchery ones?
