Opinions Please...Best 'saltwater' fishing line.
« on: August 03, 2011, 11:53:12 AM »

Hi guys, in the past, I've used 12lb. Ultra Green line for pinks and coho in saltwater... it turns colour and seems brittle after a few days. I always
wash line, reel, rod etc. after and it doesn't seem to help.

What's the best alternatives to this line?

Thanks in advance.

I hear guys saying "Maxima, Maxima..." but I think that they have been watching SportfishingBC too much.

I like the Berkley Big Game series and also tried the Suffix brand and it worked well.

I have never had a bad experience with maxima.  That being said, I also like the Berkley big game stuff...good n tough!

Berkely Big Game works just fine for me.  11$ for 1150 yards at Army and Navy, lasts the whole season.
