The more Canadian teams in the dance, the better.

Your glad to be a part of what tradition? A losing tradition in missing the playoffs 6 years in a row? YEAH!! Lets celebrate another year of missing the playoffs and continue to support a LOSING franchise. LMAO!!!

It is with heavy hearts we announce the elimination of the Toronto Maple Leafs from the 2011 post season playoffs. The Leafs started the season auspiciously by winning their first 4 games giving Chris, Rhino, Noxcape and other anonymous Leaf fans hope that this may be the year. Alas it was not to be. The old Leafs returned. Inconsistency, poor goaltending, lack of secondary scoring, poor coaching, poor power play, poor penalty killing proved to be the Leafs' demise.....again.  Along the way they lost not once but twice to the Vancouver Canucks, Canada's team, Western Conference Champions and the President's Tropy winner. Their elimination tonight marked the 6th consecutive year they have missed the playoffs. What a grate team the Leafs are. This obituary cannot be completed without repeating the refrain that Leaf fans are familiar with:

Leafs suck !

i could just imagine Yonge Street back in the day when the leafs won their last stanley cup...must have been cool carrying the cup on horse carriage.

yup! they were the best of all the 6 teams in the entire league!!! woohooo!...then came expansion, what a bummer eh?  :'( (play violin music here)....... maybe next year.... maybe next year....

don't give up hope Dorothy, keep tapping your shoes and just repeat... "there's no place like home...there's no place like home".

Thanks guys for a year of good natured fun, until next year when I am certain of a good Cup run by our Leafs.

Canucks playing a complete game tonight. Kesler with the hat trick and Raymond with a pair. Canucks leading the Wild 5-0 late in the 3rd. Canucks are preparing for a long playoff run  :)
