Humminbird Fishing Buddy: anyone in Vancouver sell them?
« on: March 11, 2010, 11:48:10 PM »

Howdy,

I am in the market for a depth-sounder/fish finder, and am interested in the humminbird fishing buddy line of portable finders.  This will be used mainly on a canoe and float tube, so looking for a lightweight, easy to mount finder.   I would like to buy locally if possible, but haven't seen them in stores.  Has anyone seen a store that carried them?  Or possibly recommend a store where I could maybe order one through?

Anyone used one of these?  What are your thoughts.  I am thinking of the more expensive 140C, 130 versions,

Thanks!

WALMART !!! i was just in there today (88th store) and they had 2 on the shelf. 1 may be gone tomorrow though  ;) they carry them seasonally it seems because they had them this time last year also and then not again until now.

they only carry the Fishin Buddy 110 though it seems so if you want one of the higher models then you have to go somewhere else. I own this one and it does exactly what i need. Depth, Temp, fish ID, depth fish are at, etc.

M&Y also carries these and the other models. You could also order them from Humminbird im sure.

Arm and Navel usually have them too. Got mine there half price. Just keep in mind that depending on the craft if your cruising the thing tends to shift on an angle.

might want to check some of the reviews on those things. something about the mounts. was looking myself and read some reviews and went with the regular portable. that was a few years back, maybe they got the issues worked out. it was before humminbird took over.

nothing wrong with the mount now, i own one and the boat mount is very sound and tough. I use the strap on cloth mount for my pontoon though but have the boat mount for easy change-ups  ;D most portable fish finder/depth sounder you can get......aside from the one you can cast LOL

each and every tackle shop in BC has access to these portable sounders. A local distributor carries them and sell to all the shops. Just a matter of getting which ever shop you like to deal with to bring one in for you.
