Sad news Chris.  Tom was my first boss in DFO, way back in 1970.  A great guy.  He used to keep an aquarium in his office down on Robson Street (now home of the Pacific Salmon Commission) - that office was the focal point of the building, attracting so many people who all had a passion for fish.  At that time he was breeding Bettas, aka Siamese Fighting Fish.

You are right; he will be missed.

The memorial for Tom Bird will be held on March 18th from 2:30 PM  to 5:30 PM at the Delta Airport Inn, in Richmond.

There will be coffee and tea with snacks following.

Parking is free. Inform the front desk so they know you are there for Tom's memorial.

Bill Otway has been asked to M.C. Bill would appreciate hearing from anyone who would like to say a word or two and also, if anyone has something they would like read out or given to the family, please forward it to Bill.
