Yakoun River, November 20th - 22nd 2009

Fished the yakoun this weekend. what an awesome river. our group ended up hooking into six and landing three over a period of three days.
tons of cutties.









fished with a guy on the yakoun that has fly caught a 47 inch by 28 inch steelhead!

fishingbuddha that would be a massive steelhead!!Did you see a photo of it by chance?

Are you sure you got the numbers right? by the length/girth calculations, that fish would have been 40-50lbs
Steelhead that size happen from time to time-it would be a 3 Salt Fish for sure.

There are stories of 30-40 but 40-50???? :-\
Not just stories I've seen pics of Steelhead over 40#.

Email Noel Gyger and ask him about the biggest he's ever seen.

didn't see any pics but he had the steelhead mounted. apparently this guy has been fishing since 1972 so this could have happened a long time ago.

Looks like you renamed or moved the pics from your Photobucket account.
I was able to see the pics but I could see all your pics.

Let me know if you want me to put a link here to show all your pics.
Otherwise, you should recopy the links from your Photobucket account.

Pics work now, I edited the post. The wrong codes were used. Use the IMG code, not the HTML code in the future for posts. HTML posts are usually used for designing webpages etc.

That river is a lifetime dream of mine, will make it happen some day.

Great river..I was up last year.The cutties are sure sweet and just been up in the QCI is amazing.Thick ,mossy,green rainforest at its best.
